Traffic pattern change on the A6 04 April until the end of May 2016..
Due to road repairs, major delays are to be expected from Monday, 04 April on the #A6 between Kaiserslautern and Ramstein in the direction of Saarbrücken. This will include reducing traffic to one lane and the full closure of the exit and entrance to the Kaiserslautern-Einsiedlerhof junction in this direction. Traffic trying to exit the A6 will be forced to continue to Kreuz-Landstuhl and diverted back the direction of KL-Einsiedlerhof. Traffic trying to enter will be guided onto the A6 direction Mannheim and diverted back towards Saarbrücken at Kaiserslautern-West. This will also affect anyone trying to access the east gate of #Ramstein Airbase from the A6. Construction is due to be completed by the end of May.
Sounds like a lot of fun. And, it sounds like a great place to avoid driving. Guess this is the only time of the year when this type of work can be done.
Also the A6 Talbrücke near the German-French border in Saarbrücken is closed until the end of the year. You have to leave the autobahn for the detour.
I can't wait to get there in May. Sounds like driving will be fun. I suppose there is an alternate route from FRA to KMC area that doesn't require the CF of A6?
