Pizzeria Heimservice Landstuhl - Napoli

I was in Germany last week visiting friends. Germany is the land of beer, schnitzel, bratwurst, beer, schnitzel, beer, bratwurst, and schnitzel.

Having said that, I have to say that during this trip, I tried something new. You see, Germans also have a sense of humor when it comes to food. They come up with combinations of food that nobody else would think of, let alone eat without a gun to their head. Fanta cake, anyone?

Anyway, on this particular trip, feeling more hungry than usual, I ordered what seemed to be a contradiction in terms. It was a pizza with onions, jalapeno peppers, and bacon. On its own, this sounds pretty good. But, replace the tomato sauce with BBQ sauce, and now you're on an entirely different trip.

The pizza was served piping hot, right out of the oven. My taste buds were still kind of fried after being on an airplane for the past 10 hours, not to mention the ambient temperature outside was hovering at somewhere around -500c. The pizza was steaming hot, and my body was freezing cold. I took a bite. I thought I would burn the roof of my mouth, but the air was too cold to allow this to happen. Something else the Germans have figured out, apparently, is how to eat 1,000 degree pizza without burning oneself.
Anyway, the pizza was awesome. I had to get another before leaving. It was equally as good. If you want one, you can find this concoction at Heimservice Napoli in Landstuhl, Germany. I am sure other places have it, but this is my new favorite pizza.

Guess who is going to the grocery store this morning to buy ingredients for a BBQ pizza!

Sounds great, how did you find such a place?

I was at the KMCC with a friend. The "Christmas market" kiosks were still there after Christmas when I got to Germany.

Good thing I have friends who accidentally find good food like this.

Are you sure said friend was not continuously saying "Napoli has a booth down at the other end"?
