Using ADAC?

I know a lot of people sign up for ADAC when they PCS here, but do any of you use them outside of roadside assistance? If so, what services have you used that we may not know about?

Like a free rental car for up to 7 days after a breakdown.

Legal. I know that my neighbor got into an accident. The person responsible was not taking care of his responsibilities. ADAC stepped in with lawyers and my friend got paid for his repair, his legal fees, his rental car, etc.

ADAC is a very good company for the different coverage they offer.

Just found an app for telling you about traffic around you and free maps (nav).

There's a free version as well as a "members only" version.

Those are all over the place. Especially crowd source apps for traffic. Check your phones app store.

I have and since they are free they also act that way. The ADAC one is really good and since I'm paying for memerhship anyway, the app is not full of adverts.

What is the name of the app? Is it for iOS, Android, or both? Thanks.

Both - if you search for ADAC there are like 4 or 5. There's even one that you can use to send your exact location to ADAC if you need help.

Two ways around this that I can think of off the top of my head.

  • If you have a VPN router, just use your iPhone on the WiFi for the router. You'll be connected to the iTunes store as if you were stateside.

  • Setup an iTunes account for Europe and download the app (it is free)

Just as is the case with the US store he'll need a German form or payment to open the account. Even if he never buys anything.

The VPN would only help in dealing with US stuff.

On a side note, you can buy and stream stuff from amazon.com. The catch is their free and prime stuff does require a VPN or DNS.

A friend of mine with a U.S. iTunes account just downloaded these files. I believe these are from iTunes (Germany?). If these are from U.S. iTunes, then there should be no issue with greenwr getting them. If they are from iTunes (outside of the U.S.) then a VPN would work without having a German form of payment.

Here are the files I asked for. If there is another app that you would require, let me know, and I will ask my friend to get it. These are on my Google Drive.

In order to set up a German iTunes account you need a German credit card, bank account or a Euro itunes gift card. This is just to set up that account. Has nothing to do with downloading.

I'm pretty sure the adac apps were also in the US store though. Better yet - your links!!

7 years, 4 months ago

I was able to download the files from the links but got an error when trying to sync my phone

The app "Autodatebank" was not installed on the iphone "greenwr" because you are not authorized for it on this computer

I wish I could help you, but as you probably guessed from previous posts/comments, I don't really use Apple. Maybe Bergman will be able to assist with that error.

Are you an adac member? The app is free but you need to be a member or use their non member version which has limits.
