Where do you ski?

I've been a few places around, but I am looking for the closest places with real snow. This season we have made it to Chamonix and Grindewald. Both places had their ups and downs. Chamonix was awesome other than the LONG drive (two kids makes travel slow!), but we stayed in town and were always close to a way up the hill.

Gridewald was good as well, but we stayed with another family at the mouth of the valley and logistics to get kids home after lunch and leave those who wanted to stay with a ride home was a nightmare! And my wife got sick so she didn't get any skiing in. I'd like to change that, but with family coming late March and my vacation time at nil, I need to make it a quick weekend trip involving no vacation time!

Any suggestions? If not, please add your experiences so we can use it for reference later.

BTW - we stayed at a B&B in Wilderswil called Chalet Gafri

It was great! Location was a little rough for skiing if your party has different schedules, but the rooms were very nice, the owners were amazing, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Price wasn't as "Swiss" as one would expect either.
