TLA Reviews

This thread was set up for those who wanted to post your reviews for any TLA in the area and your experiences that you have had while PCSing in.

Don't really remember how I heard about TDYHomes before my PCS, but regardless, I went to their website and sent a message about my upcoming move and request for lodging. Within mintues, Marlon called me back and had me set up with an off-base TLF for my family and me. I didn't have to do a single thing else, even after I arrived... Marlon hooked up with my sponsor and they had everything set for our arrival... all my family did was get off the airplane and get to the apartment. Which, by the way, was perfect. Up to and including the barbeque grill on the patio, the dedicated FAST wifi, and the light switch behind the headboard . Over the course of my tempory living, the ENTIRE staff at TDYHomes were nothing.but.superb.

To make a long review shorter, if you are authorized to lodge off-base, don't bother with anywhere else. Get in touch with TDYHomes, and let them take some of the stress/hassle/headache out of PCSing. They go above-and-beyond!

Hello, thanks for your post. I emailed yesterday and Hans called me back in minutes. We are headed over there in June. Did you get a letter of non-a ahead of time, or how did that work? I really do not want to be cooped up at Ram. Inn for 30 days!
Thanks!

As long as you call lodging and they confirm they dont have space, they will put a note in your record and when you get here, just go to lodging, they'll look you up and get the non-A.

That is how it worked with me. They were "supposed" to email me the non A before I arrived but never did.

You won't be disappointed with TDYHomes

This is going to sound kind of self serving, but I really don't care.

Hans and Marlon are two of the best people you could want to meet as a first impression of your time living in Germany.

I truly believe that if we had met Marlon and/or Hans when we moved to Germany, we'd still be there. Of course, it was not possible because Marlon got to Germany after me. And, my sponsor was horrible, and did everything possible to screw up a PCS.

Had we experienced the hospitality of TDY Homes upon our arrival, and had we been taken care of in the manner that so many others who have dealt with TDY Homes, I would still be in Germany. Instead, our first impression was so horrible, that it scarred my wife in such a way that she had a foot out of the country the entire time we were there.

What I am trying to say, is that first impressions are everything. TDY Homes provides a first impression that is phenomenal.

Fast forward a few years. We returned to the U.S. in June 2012, but I have been back to Germany every six months. I met far too many great people who I am honored to call my friends. Marlon and Hans, included.

When I make my semi-annual trip to Germany, I stay with TDY Homes. I don't have to worry about some scummy hotel, or eating restaurant food for every meal. I have a comfortable place to call home for the duration of my time on vacation.

Hans goes out of his way, along with everyone that works for TDY Homes, to make sure everyone staying in their homes is happy.

The bottom line is that if you are headed to Germany, do whatever it takes to stay with TDY Homes. You will be very happy that you did. So will your family. So will your pets.

Great! Since we are arriving in heavy PCS season, I don't think it will be an issue. I'll have my hubby get the sponsor on it this week. Thanks!

Thanks for all the kinds words if we can make things happen then we will. Things are starting to pick up for the PCS season with getting non-a's it's hit or miss. I know during the summer if you call within about two to three weeks of your stay they will issue it for you.

Also call to just ask is fine if they have room just tell them thanks you will call back and do just that I PCS'ed a lot during my time in the military.

Hi all,

My husband and I, along with our cat and small dog, are heading to K-town the end of July. Husband will be Army civilian GS-11 and will work at Kleber Kaserne. His sponsor suggested we stay at Trudy's Apts in Ramstein. Anybody have thoughts on this? Wondering if there might be TLA nearer to Kleber Kaserne.

6 years, 4 months ago

I don't know anything about Trudy's Apts maybe they are great. Or maybe the one good customer they had was your hubby's sponsor so now he's the only one that endorses them -- all I know my experience with TDYHomes (and the handful of folks here on this forum and their positive reviews). If I ever get a chance to voice my opinion for someone's choice for Lodging as they PCS to the KMC, I will shout TDYHOMES! Give em a call at the very least ... let em send you some pics of their properties and their locations...I know TDYHomes has at least one (the one I stayed in) that is closer to Kleber than Ramstein and they have others. You could perhaps hit or miss with Trudy's Apts or you could 100% hit with TDYHomes.

Trust me on this... You can stop looking right now. TDYHomes is, by far, the best place you can stay. They have locations convenient to Kleber. You simply will not find a better place to stay. They are pet friendly, too.

Send an email to Marlon at http://tdyhomes.com/?page_id=33
Tell Marlon that Sam from this site sent you. I get a pat on the back for being a nice guy.

Seriously, call TODAY. You are going during heavy PCS season, and don't want to miss out on a reservation.

If you PM me your phone number ( I already know your name from your last message to me), I will get it to Marlon right away.

Thanks everyone. I have shown my husband this thread and he is on board for TDYHomes. I'll touch base with Marlon now.
