Hair cutting alternatives to the BX

So I have only been to the little shop at the BX, you know, the cheap one. And it's so hit or miss if I get a good cut. And mine is crazy simple. Or if I spend double the time in the chair because it's social hour between the stylists, but I am looking for an alternative if it's not too much more. $12 is a pretty good deal. I called another place who said 17 Euro for a basic mens hair cut - that's more than I think I want to spend.

I'm not even opposed to someone who might do it at home, especially if it's as close or closer.

Anyone have any good experiences? Especially west of RAB. Does Miesau have anything?

Thanks!

I usually went to the place on Kapaun. Very rarely a line.

Do you know approx. where. I would drive another 10 minutes no problem.

Other than the 3 on base, there is one in LRMC. They only have 2 barbers, but I think they do a better job.

When you go up the hill from the Shoppette toward vehicle registration, you pass VR and you will be forced to turn right at the post office. After you make the right, you'll pass the first street, and then on the left is a huge parking lot. The building at the far side of the parking lot is where the barber shop is.

I play softball up there sometimes, so I'll check it out. Thanks!

You're welcome. I just hope they aren't busy when you show up. I suppose if you show up on payday, you're just looking for trouble.

Yeah, payday, lunch break, after work...all bad times.

That place is long gone. They moved off post and its called Hollywood Hair. It's right outside the gate at an old car dealership.

We may be thinking of different places. Hollywood Hair was there outside of the gate when I was there, as well. HH was there in Jan 2010 when I arrived, and still there in June 2012 when I left. The barber shop was also there the entire time.

I am 99% sure it is still there.

I've seen Hollywood hair. I might call them as well.

We took our son there for a haircut once. Once!

Anyone know if there is a good/cheap place in Ktown or vogelweh?

Hollywood hair...hit or miss until you find someone good. I think I got a Russian Mafia cut last time I was there. When I left my hair look exactly like the lady who cut it. Short and spiked.

My haircut is too easy to screw up. I use a number 2 or 2.5 (depending on the time of year) blade for my entire head. A haircut takes less than 5 minutes.

I hate it when they ask me what number to use. I don't know I'm not the barber! Lol I always forget and when I say a number they always ask if I really want it that short.
