Here are the websites for the Sembach schools, which are also in the Kaiserslautern School District.

www.semb-es.eu.dodea.edu

www.semb-ms.eu.dodea.edu

The middle school at Sembach houses 4th and 5th Elementary Grades also. They have their own wing of the school building, and their own lunch period. Sembach was previously an air base/annex to Ramstein, but was taken over by the Army late last year, so is now Sembach Kaserne.

Kaiserslautern:

Also, the site for the district superintendent:

It may come in useful for those of us with high school age kids.

The list of supplies is here for anyone else who needs it:

rain05 - We've never had any complaints about what brand of anything we have purchased. If they don't specify, they can't complain.

Looks like plenty of info to be found here.

I'm a contractor and have a cap that only would allow one of my children to attend school (whose idea was that??). Looking around at private schools is not much of an option in the KMC area, as the schools are either in Frankfurt, Neustadt, or other far-off locations. And they are extremely expensive. Since my husband is British and my 2 little girls were born in England, a friend helped me locate St. David's British Forces primary school in Ramstein-Miesenbach, just a few minutes from RAB. They are happy to accept tuition-paying, space available Americans! Their tuition this school year is 11,050 Euros per child starting at the age of 4 (They start 'kindergarten' a year earlier than in the US) for full time schooling. It's a really small school, with combined grades, but on my visit it seemed just the right size for my slightly shy girl. Their schedule and curriculum follows the British national standard, and it looks great! They do have a uniform, but it's not horribly expensive. Priced in pounds and they accept delivery through the BFPO at the school. They do packed lunches as they don't have a cafeteria. They also have a 'nursery provision' which means 3 year olds can attend 5 mornings a week to get them ready for school at 4. This one is paid for by the session, as you can choose how many days you want them to attend.

Hope that is helpful to someone

Sounds like your company negotiated a contract that didn't help you much. You might want to go to your company and ask them what they plan to do about school for your kids.

No doubt it's not a great contract! But it's a group one, involving 40 people or so across Europe and the terms haven't been updated in over 12 years. I got some more salary added to help cover above the cap.

Sounds like you're OK, then.

Do school rating websites like Great Schools have accurate ratings? Does anyone know? I just know of 2 of them.

TIA.

I've never heard of any of the rating websites for schools. Which schools are you trying to get info for? Perhaps if you ask about specific schools, people can give you info.
