Default Mexican Restaurants in the KMC

Hola

I've noticed that some people are pretty frustrated with the offering of Mexican food in the area. I'd like to recommend Papasote in Kaiserslautern (on the site of the old train station). Their website (also in English) is: www.papasote.net

On weekends, you will definitely need to make reservations.

Keep in mind, however, that you won't find Mexican food as you are used to it in the States - just like the Mexican food in Mexico differs from that in the States! We are in Germany and the catering is done for German taste buds.

I've been to Papasote and like it.

Just an FYI -

Papasote has the same owner as Cantina Mexicana, one of our site sponsors. I have never eaten at the others, but I'd think they'd all be about the same since they're all commonly owned. Anyone have experience with eating at more than one of these restaurants? Is the food comparable?

We have eaten at the Mexican Cantina, and it was pretty good. The rice and beans weren't what we were used to, but the carne guisada we had was pretty good. The flan for dessert was very yummy. It's not like the Mexican food we would find in south Texas, but it was close.
