This is not a recipe, and it's not grilling techniques. What it is , I guess, is a commercial. In checking out various things in Spain I have come across some of the very tastiest eats I have ever found anywhere, and I just thought I'd pass this info on to you all.

[And for those among you who might be put off by all this talk of delicious pig meat, as an added bonus, or as I should say, as a palliative, here are the top ten fat burners (besides sweat, and, I have to say that I, personally am not a believer in the claims of human body-fat reduction by eating anything, but would recommend what I have told you before, remember, Bruce Lee and all that, more exercise, burning the calories, and the bag of broccoli, cauliflour, celery, etc. all day long, so you never eat a 'big' meal, these here on this list may be good in the realm of anti-oxidant properrties, but they are the one's being touted for weight loss now - take it with a grain of salt): 1. Raspberry ketone; 2. Mango extract; 3. A�ai berries; 4. Green tea; 5. Resveritol (from red wine and red grapes; 6. blueberries; 7. cranberries; 8. blackberries; 9. strawberries; 10. the other kind of raspberry, red or black, from whichever kind #1 is.

Remember when I told you about those odd-looking, bandy legged critters called puercos trotting around in la Mancha (Riding Around with Don Quixote - 6, The Food of Spain)? Anyway, I mentioned how they came in very handy in fulfilling the culinary needs of the small farmers of Spain. Well, to get to the point, when you are in Spain you will find that these puercos not only 'satisfy your culinary needs' they are absolutely some of the most delicious things to eat anywhere. And here are some of the best:

- Jam�n Ib�rico de Bellota - (bellota means acorn) Acorn fed Iberian ham. Like prosciutto but from guaranteed acorn-fed pigs, y muy bueno, so don't be cooking this, alright? I mean you can warm it up, if you know what you are doing, but....well, no, just raw.

- Solomillo Ib�rico de Bellota - Pork Tenderloin. This is the most tender of the cuts of pork, best seared or grilled to a medium rare. Just add a little salt and pepper, and do not overcook, you are after a pink center for the best flavor. (yes, solomillo can also be used for beef, it means sirloin, and there is also a pork sirloin, which is also referred to as el solomo, a bit confusing, but a lot delicious,

- Presa Ib�rica de Bellota - Pork Shoulder Steak. This is right up there with the solomillo, and is so good I'd rank it up with the best of those Florentine beef steaks for flavor. When grilled properly to a juicy medium rare it just melts in your mouth and takes you to the flavor of those acorns the free-range puercos thrive on. And it's a leaner meat than cuts such as the 'pluma' end loin or the 'secreto' flank steak.

- Secreto Ib�rico de Bellota - Pork Skirt Steak. Yes, it is a thinner cut, but it's marbling makes the flavor of the secreto even more delicious than the other cuts. (And it has a lower price than the solomillo or the presa.)

- Pluma Ib�rico de Bellota - Pork End Loin. Has that same juicy delicious flavor of the free-range acorn-fed Spanish puerco cuts here. Also with the fine marbling whose flavorful fat melts away when cooked, Just salt and pepper them and grill them over a medium-high heat until sizzling and crisp on the outside and juicy and pink in the inside.

- Artisinal Chorizo Sausage - Made with traditional recipe and methods, with smoked paprika, sea salt, garlic and a raft of secret spices (available on the internet I'm sure), all coming together in one tasty Spanish weenie. Cooked up crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, makes for a delicious addition to your paella, or with scrambled eggs. * (Plus see Zorro's Tip below)

- Artisanal Butifarra Sausage - A thick, juicy, flavorful sausage from Catalu�a whose taste is enhanced even more when grilled. Flavored with just sea salt and ground black pepper, which allows the full flavor of the free-range pork to come through, it makes an excellent choice to fulfill all of your sausage needs. [look out, Zorro gettin' carried away, hold me back!] Great with eggs, or add to soups and stews.,,,,Mlmph? No, mewnph, mewnph! No mlmph,,,I morph,

NEIN, und NO. Time for ein Urlaub in Spanien. Bitte, Wir bitten um der Herr, also? Er hat gebitten und geboten...und...Geht's los, alla hopp la! Das Leben geht weiter in Bayern oder? oompah oompah oompah oompah JA! DAS IST DAS LIECHTENSTEINER POLKA MEIN HERR, VIVA RABAT MEIN SCHATZ....oompah oompah oompah oompah.]

- Yes, I am now here, fully in charge, mens sana, and ready to rock and roll, No, I will leave his stuff (or, the 'evidence') untouched. Oh. Yes, well, nevermind. No, he wrote it down, so I'm just gonna leave it. Now, where was I, I mean where was he? Ah, yes the Spanish pork industry promo. Hmmm. O.K., how about this:

- Morcilla con Cebollas y tambien Morcilla con Arroz (Aiee, muy bueno, muy bueno) - Morcilla with Onions and Morcilla with Rice.
These are those very tasty black, blood sausages which are so tasty you find them fried up at breakfast with scrambled or fried eggs, grilled and put in a salad at lunch or dinner, or as tapas, crispy and very tasty.

- And last but not least, well least in size but not in delectibility, the 'Mini Chorizo'.
Hot off the grill, just spear with a toothpick, and you've got the tastiest tapa in town, Or, instead of the grill, try a saut� of these 'cantimpalitos' in beer, or wine, or even in brandy, whoa, how to make them even more delicious. And they make an excellent addition to a paella,

- * And now, it's time for Zorro's Tip. (He left it here, written down on a piece of paper, with "For George's Eyes Only" on the envelope he put it in (but then forgot to seal, typical)(because I am his twin brother,so, no, I am not his 'evil' twin, he is my evil twin, and before he flipped out, I mean "went on a hiatus" Damn, I always forget I have to say that; no, I am not Hispanic) So, O.K., wait, no, my name is Jorge, let's make that Jorje, en espa�ol s�, no he only wrote George because he's, you know, 'eccentric' heh heh, anyway here it is: "Except for the jam�n (which I prefer served with tangerine or blood orange sections) I prefer all of these other Ib�rica de bellota Spanish pork products served with - mashed potatoes.

There you have it Ladies and Gentlemen, the "Word from Zorro" on Spanish pork products. And so, until we meet again, and until Zorro returns, or, is found, not to worry, not to worry, I just saw him. He came by after the match in Munich, A bit upset, yes. I did hear him muttering a bit in his beer, alright, screaming at the top of his lungs, just once, "They blew it. They blew it five times, AT LEAST!! But then before he took off I heard him say "no big deal". (One of those quaint anachronisms he so loves to use whenever he's been mortified, along with "nobody cares"). Well, I do hope he returns soon, at least in time for the games in London, in fact, that's probably where he's headed. Since some conversation he had with 'Don Quixote', which he conveniently can't remember what was actually said, he's convinced that he's bound to further world peace by bringing about 'peace among the tribes,' But, again, do not worry, we have the men in white suits, with the butterfly nets, out looking for him, they are Germans and they know what they are doing. Hi, I'll be pcsing to Kleber Kaserne in December. I have never been to Germany and have many questions. If anyone can help answer a few I would greatly appreciate it. I am a SFC in the Army.

1. What units are on Kleber and are any units deploying from KMC? I am currently in Afghanistan and hoping to be stabilized for a while.

2. What areas should I be looking at for renting housing close to Kleber. I've looked at ahrn and there are so many areas I don't know where to look.

Watch Your Speed at the KMCC

I sat in on a Ramstein Traffic Safety Working Group (TSWG) meeting yesterday, and part of the discussion was a request to raise the speed limit at the KMCC from 10kph to 15kph (they didn't citing the large number of pedestrians and vehicles backing up). The police are issuing on average 330 speeding tickets per month at the KMCC. Watch your speed!

Frankly, my opinion even 15kph is ridiculous. The school zones and housing areas are 20kph, and it is hard to drive this slowly. My car's speedometer doesn't even start that low. I have to ride my brakes, hoping I am not speeding, because I have no indication of speed at that slow speed.

The speed limits here are crazy slow. Just my opinion.

ponche (un) - punch (from the Caribbean and always with rum, it's the other ingredients that vary from island to island). The best I came across is the simplest (if you can get the right ingredients), it only has three and one is half a lime, but for the other two you might have to catch a hop to Pointe-�-Pitre or Fort-de-France in the French Caribbean to truly enjoy it. What you're after is Martinican 'rhum agricole' (on the dry side), the way they distill the sugar cane down in Martinique is the secret of it, along with the 'sirop pur de canne-de-sucre' ('pure sugar-cane syrup'), ditto on their technique for extracting that from the sugar cane. Use a medium-sized brandy snifter, pouring in the rum and sugar cane syrup to suit your taste (a testing process that could take years to determine your preferred ratio), then cut the lime in half and squeeze in the juice of one half. Try it on the beach, at sunset, at one of those French resort hotels (the popularity and desirablility of which, throughout 'le monde Francophone', is based on the reputation of the chef in their restaurant, and his following alone can 'make' the place)...along the south coast of Guadeloupe's Grande Terre maybe, (Guadeloupe is shaped like a butterfly, one of its wings is Grande Terre, Basse-Terre is the other), east out of Gosier, around Sainte Anne and Saint Fran�ois. And what do those Frenchies call it?: "un Punch". Demonstrations and protests are expected near the European Central Bank building, Kaiserstrasse 29, 60311 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 16 through 19 May.

- May 16: Protestor intentions are not know at this time.

- May 17: Demonstrators will occupy central squares in Frankfurt.

- May 18: Protestors will attempt to block the entrances and business operations under the motto "Seal off the Entrance to the Banks" of ...the European Central Bank and other large firms in downtown Frankfurt.

- May 19: A major international rally under the motto "The Masses create Anonymity" will take place in downtown Frankfurt to include all public squares and areas.

Host nation Law Enforcement (HNLE) expects 20,000 - 40,000 participants and believes this will be a repeat of the March 31 protests which became violent, costing millions of Euros worth of damage and injured approximately 30 police officers. HNLE expects participants at these events to become violent.

You should avoid the demonstrations, and plan for alternate routes if traveling nearby. Be aware that traffic in and around these areas will likely be severely affected during the demonstrations.

Below are some easy to follow personal security measures to remember and employ on a daily basis.

- Always try to avoid large gatherings or demonstrations.

- If you come upon a demonstration, remain calm and disengage from the situation. Avoid speaking loudly.

- Try to be inconspicuous. Do not draw attention to yourself.

- Be aware of your surroundings.

- Monitor the news for updated information.

- Travel in small groups (never alone) and vary movements.

- Always let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return.

- Carry a cell phone if possible and have emergency numbers handy (pre-programmed in phone).

Bomb Defusing & Power Outage

On 17May2012, Downtown Kaiserslautern is going to be evacuating and be off limits from 0900 until early afternoon. A 250lb unexploded WWII bomb was found during construction and the defusing team will be defusing during this time.

On 19May2012, there is going to be a power outage in East Kaiserslautern beginning between 2:30 and 3:30 pm.
