We finally got our internet (2 months later) through Vega Net, and today I bought a home phone. But because the directions to hook it up are all in German, I'm having a rough go getting it to work. When I hook it up via the router (with the funky looking European jack/cord from the phone), we at least get a dial tone, but we can't dial out, and we can't dial from our cell to the home phone. Any thoughts?

Our internet/phone info sheet from Veganet has a phone access key and a website listed, but no directions on what we are supposed to do with that information. Is it safe to assume there is something I need to register? I thought we could plug it in and use it, but silly me, that would be too easy.

I wish I could help, but I have never even heard of Vega Net. You could always call Sache at CommShop. Tell him I sent you and he'll help you even though he did not sell you the service. Sache is a great guy. So is Matt. Either will be happy to assist you.

Their number is: 06371-60753

The other option is to reach VegaNet customer service and find someone who speaks English to help you.

Wish I could help more.

Make sure the port on the wall is the port the line is coming to. Germans don't hook up their phone/internet lines like we do, they usually only go to one port in the entire house. Ours was all the way in the basement and we were trying to hook it up in our upstairs office. It dawned on me in the middle of the night and I took everything down to the basement, walla, it worked.

As for the directions in German, hit up www.google.com/translate (http://www.google.com/translate) and type in the directions. They may not be the clearest but it's better than reading frotddkofkmxrtiow directions.
