The KMC K.I.D.S. Developmental Sports Program is a new program for children
with special needs. KMC Sports is kicking off the program with soccer next
week. Attached is a flyer and brochure that can be forwarded, and listed is
a description that can be added to a newsletter. Also listed is information
about a new EFMP newsletter.

SOCCER FOR KIDS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
KMC Youth Sports has created a new developmentally appropriate sports
program for children with special needs, ages 5- 15. Children and parents
will work together to develop new skills and connect with other families.
Child/parent slots are filling up quickly, but you can still sign up, and
attend the KMC K.I.D.S. Mandatory Parent Meeting on Friday, September 9,

NEW EFMP NEWSLETTER- http://apps.mhf.dod.mil/efmp/news The Department of
Defense Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) just released the first
issue of The Exceptional Advocate, a monthly electronic newsletter for
military families with special needs. Each month you will find articles,
resources, tips, and news that families can use to remain informed on a
variety of topics. Some of this month's topics include:
- How to communicate with teachers when your child has special needs
- An overview of The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- The school liaison program and how it can help military children
transition between schools
- How installation programs are partnering to meet the fitness needs of
teens and young adults with special needs
